Types of Braces

Metal Braces

Metal braces are the most common type. They are made of high-grade stainless steel. Today’s metal braces are smaller, more comfortable and more attractive.

Ceramic Braces

Ceramic braces are made of translucent (clear) material. They are most popular with adult patients, due to their cosmetic appeal. The only drawback to ceramic brackets is that they are more fragile, and the elastic ties can discolor between orthodontic visits.

Self-Ligating Braces

Self-ligating braces offer several benefits for patients. They use a self-ligation technique using lighter wires and lower friction brackets to move teeth, while resulting in faster treatment times due to its slide mechanism, strong, mechanical base bonding and solid walls structured to control tooth movement with speed and efficiency. In addition to greater comfort, self-ligating braces make it easier to maintain good hygiene because they are easier to keep clean. This contributes to greater health, happiness and physical attractiveness for the duration of patient treatment.

ClearCorrect is the clear and simple choice. No wires. No brackets. Just clear, convenient comfort—every reason to smile. With ClearCorrect, we can straighten your teeth using a series of clear, custom, removable aligners. Each aligner moves your teeth just a little bit at a time until you eventually get straight teeth.

Red, White & Blue

Red, White and Blue appliances are clear, active aligners used to correct minor to moderate problems. Made of DuraClear, they are sturdy, though flexible. In most cases, they do not hinder patient speech or motility. Red, White and Blue is an aesthetically pleasing, clear alternative to traditional braces, allowing the patient to maintain high self-esteem while treating the orthodontic problem. Because they are cost effective, some patients who have relapsed due to not wearing their retainers favor them as a way to readjust minor complications that may arise.

Simpli5 clear aligner system is the new aesthetic treatment for straightening and realigning your teeth without the use of brackets and wires with traditional braces. Simpli5 is the perfect solution for mild to moderate spacing and crowding issues in teens and adults.
Made with precise 3-D imaging technology, the Simpli5 system consists of five sets of aligners that are 100% invisible and lightweight. They are comfortable to wear and easily removed to eat, drink, brush and floss. Each set of aligners are worn for three to four weeks, allowing the patient’s teeth to move slowly to the desired position. Depending on the amount of tooth movement required, total treatment time averages three to five months. To see if you are a candidate for Simpli5, contact our office to schedule a consultation!
